Hi, Iām Blake Robbins
Im a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado who works with athletes, veterans, first responders, and other adults navigating stress, trauma, transition, identity concerns, and relationship challenges. My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens in the context of a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and honesty.
I bring experience in outpatient mental health settings, veteran-serving clinical work, work with collegiate athletes, and independent practice. I tailor treatment to each person rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Depending on your needs, I may draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems-informed work, mindfulness, somatic approaches, and other evidence-based strategies.
Background
Alongside my clinical practice, I am pursuing a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Northern Colorado, where I also teach and supervise counselors-in-training. My academic and supervisory focus includes foundational counseling skills, ethical standards, documentation, case conceptualization, and risk assessment, consistently informing the clarity and thoughtfulness I bring to therapy.
My professional background features providing individual psychotherapy in outpatient settings, facilitating groups, working with athletes recovering from injury, supporting clients dealing with trauma and stress, and working directly with veterans and military-connected individuals.
My experience is also influenced by my military service, which shapes my understanding of discipline, pressure, responsibility, and service-oriented identity. In addition to my clinical and academic roles, I remain active in veteran-focused community work through various non-profit organizations.
Through all these roles, my aim remains to deliver counseling that is thoughtful, ethical, grounded, and responsive to clients' lived realities. I want therapy to be a safe space where you can speak honestly, feel understood, and engage in meaningful work that supports your mental health and overall well-being.
